Lilypie 5th Birthday Ticker

Saturday, July 21, 2007

My dad came over for a visit and he let Mary Bratton drive his truck down the street back to his house and back. She is dressed in her 'princess dress' - it is a flower girl dress that I wore in my aunt Suzy's wedding about 28 years ago.

Happy Birthday Ben & Buddy

Renee & Tal

Tonight we went to Cherokee for Ben David & Buddy Turpin's birthdays.
They were both born on July 11th - 6 years apart.
We had so much fun visiting with friends.
Happy Birthday Ben & Buddy!

On the left is Whit Turpin, Leah Beth and Buddy's little boy.
We counted how many 'Bratton Green' boys were born within a year
and within a group of friends there were at least 8 baby boys.

Monkey see, monkey do! Our girls using their very good manners

Roxanne's biggest fan

I love my friends! I just love my sweet friends! Some of my friends wanted me to post some other pics of my haircut. They can't believe it either. I still pass a mirror and think - where is my hair - who is that girl? Tal says he likes it - none of my friends have seen it yet - so here you go. i can't stand to have my hair in my face - so I've already pulled it back. I have already had one friend make an appointment with Roxanne - I swear... you will fall in love with her. I'm her biggest fan!!! She is the cutest thing... A punk Natalie Maines (head singer of the Dixie Chicks) Her number is 601-978-3080. She opened her own salon called Stella Salon in Centre Park in Ridgeland. I don't do color but she does the best color. I found her by walking up to random people and asking who cut their hair. I DO not do that a lot - but there were some girls at church that I asked and they all went to Roxanne.

New Do's

Me and Mary Bratton had a little date today and went and got our hair cut.
I haven't had my hair this short since probably the 3rd grade.

I told Roxanne at Stella's to do what she wanted. She is awesome - i would not trust anyone else.
I always tell her that I want to keep it long - but I was finally ready. I told her that Tal can't ever tell when I get my hair cut ( b/c I always just trim it up or cut an inch or so) so she snipped off 5 inches and said "Tell him Roxanne said HELLO" - she put it in this sealed envelope to bring home to him

Did I need a haircut or what? Roxanne does Stacy's hair too. soo cute!!
This was a picture from a girls night out we had last night at Mellow Mushroom

Vicksburg Military Park

Mary Bratton had so many questions. Tal was explaining to her how they got the cannon ball in the cannon.
She wanted us to read the name of all of the soldiers and read all of the monuments that we went by.
She loved the ship and the museum. it was really, really hot - but I'm glad that Tal had the idea to go!
Thank you Tal!!! Best Daddy in the world!

Here comes Beau

We let Mary Bratton and Beau sit on our laps riding through the military park b/c it wasn't long in between each stop and we were going really slow and wanted them to be able to see. Well, Beau decides to throw his sippy cup out of the window and then we see that we are about to get plowed over by a tour bus - so we had to pull over and then Tal had to trek down this hill to get the sippy cup - we were just hoping that it didn't get smushed by the bus. There is a reason for car seats and child proof windows!!!!!!

Beau always seems to know when his voice will carry the furthest. He loves to make his voice echo - it is so funny - and SO loud!

I wish I had paid more attention to history in high school!
