Camp Segrest's 2nd Birthday was today!

Mary Katherine and Chad had his party at The Segrest's lakehouse. It was so much fun. I didn't get very many pictures but I took a bunch with Mary Katherine's camera so hopefully she will have some good ones. It was such a fun party for such a sweet, precious boy! We love you Camp!! Happy Birthday!!!

They have some really fun tree swings right by the water.
Chad was being really sweet to Mary Bratton and picked her up b/c she was standing there pouting about having to take turns.

It was a farm birthday party. I did the invitation (above) babyfacedesign.blogspot.com
and she had the cutest, yummiest cake that was made by Suzanne Barnett. You can check out her site at.

Friday afternoon we went to a birthday party for Tim and Allie Zwiers
Here is a picture of Mary Bratton with some of her friends from school
Tim and Allie are the end of the table in the front of the picture.
They are both adopted from Russia and are not biologically related and look how much they look alike.

Mary Bratton was upset when we left the house because I didn't have a bag big enough
and her friends wouldn't be able to OPEN their presents.
Here she is trying to hide the gifts so that she could surprise them.

I'm it

I have been tagged by Lisa ( and Jenny) to answer the following questions.

1. What were you doing 10 years ago?

1997 - I had graduated from Ole Miss in May and started a job working in advertising sales at The Northside Sun. This is where I began my graphic design experience and fell in love with designing. I sat in front of Jenny Bourn ( before Trey and Tal ever came into the picture) and we got in trouble ALL OF THE TIME... for talking and laughing our butts off. And then after a while, Laura Owen came to the Northside Sun and sat right in front of me. How fun to go to work when your friends are right in front of you and right behind you. I was just hanging out with all of my friends and dating a bunch of loser guys - waiting for Tal to come along!!

2.What were you doing 5 years ago?

2002 - I was working at Mississippi Magazine and I was just a few months pregnant with Mary Bratton. Tal and I bought our first house together on Crane Blvd. in Fondren - and we had gotten our dog Delta about a year before - she was our first baby. We were church hopping trying to find our new church home and fell in love with Covenant Presbyterian.

3. What were you doing 1 year ago? 2006

Beau wasn't even crawling yet. I remember trying to teach him how to crawl... why did I do that? I had just got my monogram machine and I hated it. Tal told me that I better learn to like it fast :) Mary Bratton just started k3 at Pinelake Christian School and Beau started mother's morning out.

4.What did you do yesterday? hhmmmm... since it is almost midnight... does that mean today yesterday.... or yesterday yesterday?? I guess I will go with today yesterday!! I dropped MB off at school after going though the whole spill everyday of why she can't wear her glittery shirt to school- UNIFORMS....everyone wears the same thing. Then dropped Beau off at Mother's morning out. Then I came home and worked all day until time to pick them up. Then Mary Katherine, Chad and Camp came over tonight. MK helped me organize my office. You wouldn't believe the stuff she made me throw away. Like RED, WHITE & BLUE ribbon that I could have used to decorate my kids bikes in case they are ever in a 4th of July parade. I mean.... I might need that one day!

Snacks I enjoy
Carbs.
Reduced fat Cheez Itz ( not cheeze Ums.... there is a HUGE difference). Diet Dr. Pepper - gotta have it!!

Things I would do with $100 million dollars

pay off any debt. Pay for both of my kids college! Give to Pinelake (our Church!)
Travel with Tal (with a nanny), invest, invest, invest, pay for college for all of our neices and nephews, get a pontoon boat, new house on the water - but I would want to stay exactly the same people we are today - except be rich! :)

Locations I would run to

Tal would to go the mountains in a heart beat ( so I would follow him) - but I love the sunshine and the beach!

Bad habits I have

I'm totally high strung, drink too many Diet Dr. Peppers everyday ( maybe this is why I'm high strung) , stay up late working and feel like I'm going to crash during the day, i love teenie bopper reality shows and I am almost 32 years old, I don't know... we need to ask Tal - he will have a very long list :)

Things I like to do

I love being with my family. Tal and I love taking the kids to places that they will enjoy. When they are happy, it makes me so happy. I love dates with my husband, girls nights, I enjoy working out ( recently running), love to go out to eat, love any kind of party or reunion so I can see people that i haven't seen in a while, love going to church at Pinelake

Biggest joy of the moment

Watching my children grow. It is happening to0 fast. Mary Bratton loves to learn and it amazes me to hear some of the things that she says. She loves gymnastics and can't wait to go every week. She is a sweet, sweet girl. Beau is a bundle of energy. He is so funny. Loves life and there is never a dull moment. He is learning to communicate a little bit more which makes things a little easier. Watching the two of them together is the BEST thing in the whole world. They adore each other.

Ok - so it is my turn to tag..... All of the small group girls that have blogs...

I had to go back and find these pictures b/c of Jenny's comment below.
Here are D'Ella left front, Isabel in the left back and Mary Bratton at the right at the fair when they were a few months old.

Just taking pictures........

Anyone see Mary Bratton? All of the sudden this little girl shows up in the picture right in the place where Mary Bratton's head is suppose to be. Jenny - I don't know how you remembered that.

Lifehouse's Everything Skit

This just rocked my world.
Please take a minute to watch this!!!

Are you dancing with Jesus? Or someone else?
This is a skit that was done at Winterfest this year set to “Everything” by the band Lifehouse. It will bring you to tears and remind you how careful we need to be every single day to cling to Jesus. We have so many “distractions” that can come against us, tempt us, and tear us away from God. And they will tear our life apart. But, if we spend our days right next to God, including Him in our daily activities, letting Him lead us, we will be protected.

Ben, Barbara, Isabel, D'Ella, and Noah all came over on Thursday night. Barbara was pregnant with the girls the same time that I was preggers with Mary Bratton. They are all 3 week apart - Mary Bratton's very first friends and they have SO much fun together!!

Mary Bratton got bucked off and is hanging on for dear life!

Here is Noah David and Beau walking around the kitchen with no pants on. Gotta love being a kid!

Here is D'Ella writing me and Barbara an "I'm Sorry" note for taking part in the mess in the bathroom. Isabel, Mary Bratton and D'Ella soaped up the bathroom. Not even sure what they did or how they did it but there were soap bubbles in the potty, in the bathtub, the sink and all on the floor. WE got apology notes from all of them!

3rd place for the Guest Girls

Tal just sent me the race results. Me and Mary Bratton both got 3rd place in our age groups! We had know idea b/c we left after Mary Bratton's race. I had my music to pump me up and these chubby legs must have been moving that day. I'm so excited!! Those races have such an awesome atmosphere - I've got the bug for sure.

my first 6 miles

This was the weekend that I've been training for. The 300 Oaks 10K race in Greenwood. This was Tal's first 10K about 4 years ago.
It was a beautiful morning and a great race. It was so great to have Tal, the kids and my dad cheering me on.
My time was alot better than I thought it would be so I was proud of myself. After the race we went back to my dad's hunting camp and rode 4 wheelers, watched football, shot guns and ate good food. Doesn't sound like stuff that a girl like myself would like - but I love it!! It was one of those days I will always remember.

Mary Bratton's 1 mile

Does she look ready or what? Look how little she looks! She and the little girl to the left in the green were battling it out for the whole mile. Mary Bratton was not going to let that little girl beat her. I told her at the end that it didn't always matter if you win or lose as long as you having fun doing it. I asked her if she had fun and she said " I had fun winning and beating that little girl."

I was so proud of her. She never stopped running! I could tell that she was getting worn out and she kept going!
I could hear Tal cheering and I was motioning for him to keep cheering for her!! you could tell that it made her happy to hear her daddy yelling for her!

Go Mary Bratton!!! everyone was cheering her on at the finish

She did it!!! We were all very proud of her!!

She was so proud of her medal.

I wanted to get alot of pictures of Beau and his first trip to the hunting camp.
With Tal being the outdoorsman that he is - I'm sure Beau will follow in his daddy's footsteps.
